Terms of service

These terms cover your use of LPHost game server hosting at lphost.net. By paying for a plan you agree to them. Plain language, no traps.

1. The service

LPHost rents you a slice of a managed game server: memory, storage, CPU and a network address, plus a control panel to run it. Exactly what you get is listed on the plan you bought.

2. Your account

Keep your panel password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your server, including anything done by people you give access to. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got in.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use an LPHost server to:

• attack, scan or flood anything you do not own;
• host or distribute malware, stolen data or illegal content;
• send bulk unsolicited email;
• mine cryptocurrency, or run workloads unrelated to game hosting;
• break the licence terms of a game or mod you are running.

Servers that put a node at risk — sustained resource abuse, crash loops, inbound attacks — may be throttled or stopped while we talk to you about it.

4. Payment and renewal

Plans are billed monthly in advance, in US dollars, through Stripe. The subscription renews on the same day each month until you cancel. We never see or store your card number; Stripe handles it.

If a renewal payment fails we retry for a few days and email you. If it keeps failing, the server is suspended and then deleted after the retention window in section 6.

5. Cancelling

Cancel any time by emailing support@lphost.net. Your server keeps running until the end of the period you already paid for. Refunds are covered in the refund policy.

6. Backups and your data

We take automatic backups at the frequency listed on your plan, and you can download your files over SFTP at any time. Backups are a convenience, not a guarantee — keep your own copy of anything you could not stand to lose.

After a cancellation or a failed payment we keep server files for 14 days, then delete them permanently.

7. Availability

We target 99.9% monthly uptime, excluding scheduled maintenance (announced in advance) and problems caused by your own configuration, mods or plugins. If we miss it badly, email us and we will credit your account.

8. Suspension and termination

We can suspend or close an account that breaks section 3, charges back a legitimate payment, or is used to abuse our staff. Where the situation allows it, you get notice and a chance to fix things first.

9. Liability

The service is provided as is. We are not liable for lost worlds, lost players, lost income or any indirect loss. Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the previous three months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes get an email at least 14 days before they apply. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.
